so just to clarify. do i still keep the compressor in my main vocals and then add the two (one light compressed and one hard compressed) after ? or are you saying do the main vocals lightly compressed and then just create one send for the hard compressed vocals. if this question makes sense.

to my ears, stock sound better

3rd party plug ins sounds warmer and sounds analog, while stock plugins sounds good too but it sounds more digital. 3rd party or stock plugins can produce a great music.

These people just have to keep everything in THEIR community dont they..

That's an interesting comparison. I find your master to have a very prominent stereo field and bigger low end, while izotope sounds more centered and controlled. To your point, preference definitely plays a major role here, and the end result is solely predicated on the musicians idea of what they're looking for in the end. Good video. 👍🏾

Great tutorial! I have the Pro Q3,Is the Pro Q3 essentially a mulitband compressor with its dynamic control function? To me ,MB and Q3 seem the same.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail. They taught me to use the Channel Strip from Avid’s Pro Tools plug-in selection. I’ve always used it but never was completely happy with how it works. I would always go for 65hz to duck the bass in order to enhance the kick. With this video I have relearned everything from side chain compression when it comes to that application. I’m using Pro-Q 3 now forever.

If I use drums via MIDI, I assure myself that, everything is balanced in dynamics, by using this simple method: the higher an instrument is inside the frequency spectrum, the lower the velocity should be. This also applies for piano pieces. So you're already able to safe tons of headroom before even start mixing
